Venice Beach
Venice Beach is an area which is part of Venice, California, and it’s probably one of the most photographed and filmed places in the world. It appeared in numerous movies and whenever California beaches are mentioned, it’s a good chance that the scenes are filmed on Venice Beach. It’s well known for the roller skaters, street performers, streetballers and athletes which are pumping iron on Muscle Beach.
The Venice Beach area has in it the main beach, the famous basketball courts where many streetballers are discovered, the Muscle Beach, the boardwalk (a promenade which is parallel with the beach), a bike trail, the Skate Dancing plaza, the businesses from the boardwalk and many other handball and beach volleyball courts. All these combined give you Venice Beach, a place where you can have fun watching others or you can practice one of the sports yourself.
When it was built, the idea behind Venice Beach was that it would attract people from all over the world here and Kinney Pier is a testament to that, with its attractions and rides, which makes it look like an amusement park. This is also a place where you can do some fishing, on one of the piers which were built for this very purpose.
One of the things that Venice Beach is famous for is the surfboarders and roller skaters which use it to have fun and practice their skill, in swim trunks and bikinis. Another famous area is Muscle Beach, used by athletes to build muscle and show off their bodies. The basketball courts from the area are renown for the quality of the players which used them and they come from all over the country, for a chance to get noticed and make it big. In many cases, players were noticed and received offers while playing here.
